T.J. Gottwalt brings more than 40 years of combined education and experience to the design community on the proper specification and application of architectural doors, hardware and security products. He’s gained extensive experience as a project coordinator with industry leader Allegion. T.J. is a certified architectural hardware consultant, certified door consultant, certified fire door assembly inspector, construction documents technologist, and certified construction products representative.
He serves architects and specifiers, both as an educator and an industry resource. In addition to developing more 36 AIA/CES registered programs for a former employer, he has served on the AIA/CES Provider Council as an advocate of adult continuing education.
T.J. is also author of numerous articles published in industry magazines such as Architectural Record, Construction Specifier, and Door Security + Safety, to name a few.
T.J. is a member of AIA and currently serves on the CSI national board of directors. He is an instructor at the Door and Hardware Institute and former member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Technical Committee on detention and correctional occupancies.
